Pioneer PL-12D- as Dubmart mentioned above- a good sounding 70's entry level turntable more or less on par with the 1210 soundwise.

I was born in the 70's so this was old when I got it but it really got me in to records and music from an early age. I've sadly forgotten the brand/name on my very first record player but it was one of those music center furnitures with built in records player/tuner/amplifier from the late 50's or early 60's.

Numerous Duals, B & Os, Sonys, Technics, NADs, Sansuis, and others, plus a collection of portable decks. Rega 25 (Agree with Tim B and wish I'd kept it) Partial list of decks that have passed through my hands and been enjoyed for varying periods, in no particular order: Technics SL-1210s (still have a modded one in use)Īwaiting restoration and to be kept and used: Roksan Xerxes (still own, but not in use)Īriston RD 90 (still own, but not in use) The ones that have actually spent time in my systems in more or less chronological order: And have bought a couple of very entry-level turntables from garage sales to get a spare removable headshell or perspex lid.

Very entry level, but I felt I was on the road to hifi, using something that wouldn't damage my records.
