It’s no secret that sequels oftentimes don’t measure up to their originals, but that isn’t always the case. The film’s director, Paul Feig, is understandably wary of a potential sequel because he thinks it would just turn out to be a funny wedding movie that isn’t as heartfelt as Bridesmaids.

In the film, Rudolph’s character, Lillian, is getting married and asks her best friend, Annie (Wiig), to be her maid of honor. The 2011 classic comedy stars Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig alongside an all-star ensemble cast, which features McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Chris O’Dowd, Rebel Wilson, Jon Hamm, and the late Jill Clayburgh.
